When people around the world plan their trips to Japan, they often set their sights on the well-known cultural capitals like Kyoto, Tokyo, or Osaka. But tucked quietly between Kyoto and Kanazawa lies a truly special destination that still remains under the radar: FUKUI.
FUKUI is a place many people have never heard of — and that’s exactly why I believe it’s so valuable. It’s not overrun by tourists, which means you can experience the authentic beauty of Japan in peace. Here, the air is fresh, the scenery is open and expansive, and time seems to slow down just enough for you to savor every moment.
One of FUKUI’s greatest strengths is its rich natural environment. You’ll find lush mountains, flowing rivers, quiet temples, and the sparkling Japan Sea just minutes away from each other. Whether it’s snow-covered gardens in winter, cherry blossoms in spring, vibrant foliage in fall, or the deep greens of summer, every season paints the landscape in a new and magical way — perfect for photo weddings.
But nature isn’t the only charm. FUKUI is also a city of craftsmanship and culture. Visitors can explore traditional workshops for ceramics, Japanese paper, forged blades, and handmade furniture — all still created with the same passion and technique passed down through generations. These hands-on experiences allow you to connect with the soul of Japan in a way that most big-city travels simply can’t offer.
And let’s not forget the food. Being right next to the Japan Sea, FUKUI boasts some of the freshest seafood in the country, including famous Echizen crab, which is considered a delicacy even within Japan. The region is also known for its handmade soba noodles, which are simple yet deeply flavorful, offering a true taste of local life.
Through this project, I hope to bring more attention to this beautiful region. My goal isn’t just to take wedding photos — it’s to offer a full, meaningful experience that combines the art of photography with the spirit of FUKUI. I want couples to feel the energy of this place, to wear traditional kimono or uchikake in real historic locations like temples, gardens, and castles, and to leave with memories that will stay in their hearts forever.
This blog is where I’ll continue to share updates, behind-the-scenes stories, and the hidden gems of FUKUI. If you’ve never heard of this region before, I hope my words and images will inspire you to visit — or even better, to create your own unforgettable wedding story here.
Let FUKUI be your canvas, and let your love story begin here.
